Redaction is a custom typeface commissioned for Titus Kaphar and Reginald Dwayne Betts’ The Redaction collaboration at MoMA PS1, about the unconstitutional cash bail system. The fonts take inspiration from US legal typography, including Times New Roman and Century Schoolbook. There are special bitmap versions of the fonts, referencing the degradation of documents in the legal system. The fonts are free for personal use.
